Board Riders Club

(This Page has been imported over from another site and is two year out of date. It will be updated soon)
This year I started the board riders club with a number of students in the high school. About a week ago I got it in my head to see about setting up a put-up/take down skate park at school. After some initial hunting around for portable equipment and even making my own ramp this week partly as a experiment in how difficult and expensive it is to build your own stuff.
I am pleased with the progress. I have admin support at school because in every grade 4th and up I have 10 skaters per year. That means 80 plus kids into this activity right from the start. We might have to set-up different days just for elementary, middle and high school at this rate.
If they respond well, here is the company I am hoping to work with on this project. Key in the decision will be the storage space required and the final price. Big details to sort out but this could be incredible.
Also interesting is the level of enthusiasm from some of the “30 something” male faculty and staff who want to dust off their skate shoes, replace some bearings, and get back into it.

Fuel TV – They have a great vid podcast that is available through I-tunes. They showed a Vert Session a few weeks back that leaves your head spinning with the variety of tricks possible in the Vertical World. The site itself is like a Extreme Film Festival on your Screen.
Check out the DVS Skate podcast. Incredible skating found in this podcast. Go to the website and click to skating and you’ll find it.
